If you can tell from my previous reviews, I don't venture too far from River North, so I was really looking forward to heading to Bucktown to check out Presidio!
Why Eat Here?
Overall, I think Presidio is a great spot if you are looking for a cozy, upper-scale restaurant in Bucktown. The food overall was really good, but I won't be going out of my way to go back here. The space itself is not very big, so you're most likely going to be seated very close to the table next to you. The drinks were definitely above average; the bartenders certainly knew what they were doing.
We ordered the burrata cheese appetizer to start and in hindsight I would have ordered something different. It was delicious but the portion size was tiny which made sharing between four people challenging.
As for the main dish, I think I ordered the best thing on the menu...pappardelle. The homemade pasta and beef short rib ragu sauce was incredible! Two of us ordered this dish and loved it. The other two people I was with ordered the skirt steak. It was cooked perfectly, but the small portion and the cut of meat didn't align for the price.
We also ordered the side of crispy broccoli, which was my girlfriend's favorite part of the meal. It was great for sharing and was unlike any broccoli I've had.
Style:
It was Masters weekend so I had to bring out the green sport coat! My Instagram photos with this jacket received a ton of compliments! This is a custom designed jacket, paired with slim denim, a button down shirt and suede loafers.
